One of the pioneering 3D printer technologies MakerGear developed is MakerGear M2 Assembled 3D printer. What makes MakerGear different from other printers?

MakerGear M2 assembled 3D printer is enclosed in a well-furnished, open, black powder-coated steel frames that offers a vertical Z-axis resolution that ranges from 50microns to 300 microns at the increments of 10 microns. The model objects can be built to a maximum dimension of 203 x 203x 254 mm.

Like any other 3D printer, MakerGear uses the usual 1.75 mm filament diameter that is made from either ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or PLA (Polylactic Acid) thermoplastic filament. You are entitled to choose between these kinds of filament material by your own personal preference.

How does this operate?

The software can be downloaded or can just be plug immediately (an SD card is provided) to the printer. Printing of models can be done by attaching a USB cable (supplied by copy of models of your own choice) to the printer. A G-code numerical instruction is used. MakerGear fabricate physical objects directly from computer-aided-design (CAD) data sources. From this, objects are built by dispensing successive thin layers of molten material onto the moving platform from a robotic extruder nozzle.

To provide support to your printing needs, a metal build platform heats up to 110oC to sustain thermal stability. The machine is design for accurate precision, with anodized axis mounts and carriage ball bearings to help safeguard detailed movements.

What are the other specifications?

MakerGear has a minimum X/Y positioning of 0.01 mm and maximum and maximum X/Y movement of 450 mm/s. Nozzle diameter is of 0.35 mm which if you know a bit smaller than the typical extrusion diameter, delivering a more detailed and manicured finish to the model objects. The building speed can be adjusted from 80 mm/s – 20 mm/s with a travel rate of 100—250mm/s. Extrusion run only for about 300mm/min when doe manually.

The whole printer weighs around 28 lb.
